Description
"Beute" is the working title for this one, it is the german word for "prey".
Candra is a hunter, he truly is. Humans call his kind "Moonghost" even though his kind has nothing to do with ghosts. They are more related to demons, but they are no demons.
Candra sleeps during the day and is up at night. He is no evil creature but he is rather wild and shares a lot of aspects with animals, which does not only show in his appearance. He has quite the temper and once he is on the hunt, you cannot stop him any more. He lives in an abandoned ruin somewhere in the forests. He sometimes visits the nearby town, if he needs anything but during the day he is weak and looks like a very pale and sick elf. There is no horns and hooves during the day even though those belong to his true form.
People are afraid of him and his kind. They say moonghosts are killers and eat human meat, also they say that moonghosts steal the domnestic animals of farmers such as cows and pigs. It is also said that they come into peoples houses at night to seduce the innocent to have wild sex with them. Well, due to there animalistic features, moonghosts have quite a sex drive but thye would never rape someone or something. As I said before, they have no evil nature, they are absolutely neutral.
Their magic abilities change with the cycle of the moon. Also they can turn invisible in the moonlight while they seem to glow in the shadows. It is said, that a moonghost allures their prey with illusion magic and then kill it with their strong arms and hands. They only kill animals though, just like any another carnivore out there in the woods. However, moonghosts have a high intelligence and manners, especially when someone is around.
It is said that they are immortal but that is not true. Even though a moonghost grows very old, he dies in the end. Their spirit returns to the moon and at some point a moonghost will be reborn again, having the memories and the knowledge of his former lives. They only remember this when they dream during the day though.
