The idea of an albino or 'white' dark elf is not new in literature or art, but this depiction is both fresh and appealing.
The composition is pleasingly different with the character - Asmanya - being stationed against an open circular window in an unusual and erotic pose. The background is painted in suitably muted colours which serve to accentuate the main figure.
Asmanya's torso draws the eye, as it is meant to. His skin is so skillfully painted that it almost appears to glow with an otherwordly, translucent quality. Every muscle is well defined but what I find particularly interesting is the cross-crossing network of scars, which provide a stark contrast to the elf's beautiful face and almost serene expression. The silver fluidity of his hair also serves to remind the viewer that this is not a man but an elf - a different type of male being. I'm not sure about the butterfly tattoo which does seem a little out of place within the picture, but that is my own personal opinion. The bright red of Asmanya's clothing is a good choice of colour to draw the eye and allow it to wander over the very male yet very subtle shapes of his lower body.
The eroticism of this piece of art is understated but still there to enjoy and I have throughly enjoyed looking at and providing a critique for such a beautifully depicted elf.
This is an incredibly beautiful image. The colours of the background, and then Asmanya in the foreground, with the red material around his hips - it makes for a really eye-catching image. Stunning colours!
