Nightshadow

This creature is a nightshadow. They can only be seen at night (which does not mean that they are not around during the day) and they able to have a solid appearance (as being portraied here) as well as a shadow form.

Nightshadows originally come from the Nightrealm and it is unknown why some of them can be seen in the world of the mortals. It is said, that in the mortal realm, Nightshadows are guardians of something very very precious, maybe summoned by powerful conjurers. It is also said that thsoe who left their home realm did not choose to do so but maybe are guilty of a crime and thus were forced to leave.

Nightshadows are usually tall and massive creatures with a human like appearance but two big horns and hooves instead of feet. Their eyes glow in the dark  and they have the abilty to absorb light to hide themselves. The red glow in his chest is where the heart is located, it pulsates in the rhythm of the heartbeat of the creature.
